Assistant Inspector General of NPS Dies After Collapsing at Home

Assistant Inspector General of the National Police Service (NPS) Philip Kipchirchir has died after reportedly collapsingin his house in Chesumei, Nandi County.
Reports indicate that Kipchirchir, who served as a senior officer at the Vigilance House in Nairobi, collapsed around 5 am on Saturday, December 6.
Attempts to rush him to the nearest hospital for treatment proved futile after he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to Kipchirchir's brother, he suddenly fell unconscious, prompting family members to rush him to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Before his appointment to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General of Police, Kipchirchir had served in several ranks within the service, including in the General Service Unit (GSU).
Despite holding the key police post, Kipchirchir had been previously dismissed by the National Police Service Commission after a vetting panel found him unsuitable to serve.
