DCI Dominates the 4th Edition Disciplined Forces National Shooting Contest

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) emerged as the undisputed champions of the 4th Edition IPSC Disciplined Forces Shooting Competition by clinching victory in seven of the eleven categories their charges contested.

In a December 1 2025 press release, the DCI acknowledged competition from tactical operators representingKDF, GSU, Kenya Prisons, ATPU, and the Kenya Police Service in the annual event, which tested the operators’ marksmanship, precision, and tactical skills.

DCI’s dominance throughout the two-day event in Mombasa secured the sleuths the Overall Winners’ trophy, surpassing traditionally strong teams such as KDF and GSU.

In the competition featuring 73 participants in eleven categories, DCI took seven awards, and the remaining four awards were shared among KDF, GSU, Police, and Kenya Prisons teams.

This win continuesDCI’s winning streak, following their triumph in last year’s competition, where they also topped the leaderboard, demonstrating consistent excellence across Kenya’s elite security forces.

Charles Mugendi, the team’s standout performer and the current Top Standard Category Manxman champion in Kenya, produced precise shooting with both pistol and rifle to set the pace for DCI’s success.

Other notable winners were the Superintendent of Police, Peter Kiveleeti, and KDF sharpshooter, Agatha Muchiri, who won their men’s and ladies’ categories top shot rankings, respectively.

Hosted at the Bamburi Rifle Club, Abdulhakim Daud, Chairman of the Club, expressed heartfelt congratulations to all teams that participated in the annual event.

In his remarks, the chairman applauded the participants for their commitment and effort, which were highly commendable.

Other notable officials attending the event included Philip Ndolo, Chairperson of the Kenya Sports Shooting Federation, Ramadhan Mohamed, Vice Chairperson of the Bamburi Rifle Club, and members of the Firearm Licensing Board.

Additionally, the event also featured a civilians’ IPSC competition alongside that of disciplined forces.
