Govt Reshuffles National Police Leadership, Names Adamson Bungei New Small Arms Director

The government has announced major changes within the leadership of the National Police Service (NPS), withformer Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei being appointed the Director of the Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons.

According to the changes made on Thursday, theformer Nairobi police bosswill replace Jacinta Muthoni, who retired from the position after years of service.

Until his new role, Bungei served as the Director of Operations at police headquarters, Vigilance House.

At the same time, Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati was moved to the Central Region, while Samuel Ndanyi was posted to in Rift Valley, effectively swapping the two leadership positions.

Paul Wambugu, who was previously the officer in charge at Isiolo, has been transferred to the National Police Leadership Academy in Ngong, according to police headquarters officials.
