LIVE BLOG: Yoweri Museveni Takes Early Lead as Uganda Electoral Commission Continues With Counting

Provisional results for the presidential election in Uganda haveindicated a clear early lead for President Yoweri Museveni as vote tallying continues across the country.
11:35: Figures released by the Ugandan Electoral Commission show President Museveni is leading the presidential race with76.25 per cent, representing approximately 3.9 million votes.
On the other hand, his main competitor, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has so far secured19.85 per cent, translating to about 1.3 million votes.
So far, results from roughly 45 per cent of polling stations have been received and verified.
Despite the current internet shutdown in Uganda, the country's electoral commission continues to provide live updates at the National Tally Centre, with media houses allowed to capture the proceedings.
However, despite Museveni’s early advantage, the latest figures are still provisional and may change as additional results are received from the remaining polling stations across the country.
