President Ruto and CS Ogamba Make State Appointments

President William Ruto has reappointed Faith Boinett as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Pipeline Company, despite public pressure.

In a gazette notice dated Friday, December 19, Ruto appointed Bionett for a term of three years, effective December 23, 2025.

"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint FAITH BOINETT to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the  Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 23rd December, 2025," the notice reads.

Ruto first appointed Biointt to this role on December 23, 2022, for a three-year term, succeeding Rita Achieng Okuthe.

At the same time, the Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Ogamba, has revoked the appointment of Professor Ben Chumo as the Chairman of Kenyatta University Council.

Ogamba instead appointed Professor Clara Samiji Momanyi as the Chairperson of the Council for a term of three years starting December 19.
