UDA Announces Repeat Polls for Party Delegates Across Four Counties

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced repeat grassroots elections in four counties following unresolved issues in earlier party polls.

In a notice dated January 10, 2026, the party’s National Elections Board (NEB) said the repeat elections would be conducted in parts of Samburu, Nyeri, Laikipia, and Baringo counties.

According to the notice, the repeat polls are scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026. They will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at designated polling centres.

UDA clarified that the exercise will involve polling centre delegates only, who have been instructed to report to the specified locations to participate in the repeat voting.

In Samburu County, the repeat elections will take place in Samburu North Constituency at Ndoto Ward and Nyiro Ward, with polling centres set at Harsim Primary School and Losirukoi Nursery, respectively.

Nyeri County will see repeat voting in Nyeri Town Constituency, covering Kiganjo/Mathari Ward and Kamwaki/Mukaro Ward, where polling will be conducted at Mathari Nursery and Kanoga Primary School.

In Laikipia County, the repeat election will be held in Laikipia East Constituency, Nanyuki Ward, with Nturukuma Kenya Fibre designated as the polling centre.

Baringo County will conduct repeat elections in Tiaty Constituency across Churo/Amaya Ward, Kolowa Ward, and Tirioko Ward, with polling centres located at Kadia Center, Ayeleion Dam, and Ngeleya Primary School.

The party did not disclose the specific reasons that led to the repeat elections but directed all affected members and delegates to comply fully with the notice.

The directive wassigned by UDA National Elections BoardChairperson Anthony Mwaura as the party continues efforts to finalise its grassroots leadership structures.

The reruns come amid the activation of UDA’s Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC), which has opened a formal process to receive and determine disputes arising from Phase III grassroots elections and by-election nominations.

In a separate notice dated January 9, 2026, the committee directed that all electoral and nomination disputes must be lodged within 24 hours of the declaration of results or nomination decisions via the party’s official email, as UDA moves to address electoral irregularities internally.
